The Night Before Pride is a story that creates a fun and festive new tradition for families of all kinds. The evening before celebrating the town Pride event, children (and even their parents) can write letters to the Pride Fairy, a wonderful little sprite who visits homes at night bearing small trinkets and other surprises. In these letters, the children convey what they are proud of accomplishments big and small, in a reflective exercise allowing children to think about who they are and why they are proud of themselves and their unique families. In this story, much like in the story of 'Twas the Night Before Christmas, one parent is awoken in the middle of the night, surprised to find someone magical has visited. The little Pride Fairy is in the house, dancing, singing and granting the parents' wishes of hope, love and equality. I've spend the majority of my career as an elementary educator, curriculum writer, and as the Founder and Executive Director of a nonprofit focusing on empowering girls in STEM.
